For my web business, I will be creating an online soccer shop that will sell soccer related products. I think I will be able to incorporate both Web 2.0 and Enterprise 2.0 in different ways for my project. Web 2.0 will be useful because it will allow me to meet my customers’ needs more effectively. I would like to implement a discussion forum to allow customers to express their concerns. If customers were interested in certain products that I did not have in stock, I could see what new products I should try to acquire and make available. The discussion forum would also serve the purpose of letting customers discuss soccer in general or any other subject they wish to. If a discussion becomes particularly compelling, it may draw new people to participate in it. Since most of people participating in the discussions will be interested in soccer, the store will be a convenient place to buy products while the discussions are driving in interest. The freedom to discuss anything they want will keep people on the discussion boards so that they can talk to friends.
Enterprise 2.0 will also be incorporated into the business. Since it will be a completely online based business, functionality of the website will be the most important aspect of the company. Customers need to be able to easily find products and manipulate the website to accomplish what they want. If the site is not functional at any point in time, it will drive away first time customers from returning to the site, and will not compel repeat customers to return again. I will need a small team of website developers to keep the website up and running at all times. A private discussion board will allow my team of developers to discuss any problems they run into. The use of their collective knowledge will be much more effective in dealing with any problems than any one developer would be. This would allow developers to spend less time on any given problem and the website would undoubtedly be maintained better.

I think the way you explain how Enterprise 2.0 and Web 2.0 will improve your website shows a good understand of the technology. Having an online forum as you said you wanted to do, will do more than just allow you to meet users needs in other ways. It will also give users a small incentive to come back to the website over and over again to check on the forum, and this, I believe, can be the cheapest form of advertisement you can find.
